Located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, near
the center of Hickory, North Carolina, for seventy-five
years Viewmont Baptist Church has been focusing on creative
ministries to the wide variety of people who make this
beautiful area home. Our congregation is actively involved
in a multitude of community, national and international
missions and has been identified with the Cooperative
Baptist Fellowship since its formation in 1990. A highly
competent professional staff equips and leads members not
only to make an impact for Christ on the world but to also
provide opportunities for personal spiritual development and
gives leadership to two worship services each Sunday…one
service is a contemplative style and the other is
traditional—this one is televised live throughout the
region. Our congregation is now searching for a person to
serve as the senior pastor who will coordinate, facilitate,
and lead the staff and congregation into the exciting future
that God has in mind for them. Candidates should be well
experienced in leading a multiple staff, be an outstanding
preacher and teacher, with at least a Master of Divinity
degree from an accredited seminary…and preferably an earned
